About the Artwork: The “Watching Over” series is one of my longest running series. The imagery is most often from cemeteries around the world, with a focus on angel statuary. I photographed this angel in Rome. Ponte Sant’Angelo, or Bridge of Angels, is home to 10 statues designed by Bernini. The Angel statues are holding instruments of the Passion. (See image of the Bridge of Angels in the photos section.) The original photos were rephotographed using the 20 x 24 Polaroid camera in New York. The Polaroids were transferred to a frosted mylar surface and custom framed.
