Fall Flowers on Carson's Farm, 2023

About the Artwork: Some paintings arrive almost complete. The colors and form seem to happen virtually immediately. Others, however, can take months, some even years it seems before they are finished.
This one, "Fall Flowers on Carson's Farm," was one of the more difficult ones.
It was painted over at least twice
On the last restart, I put it up after a bit and left the studio. I went to do what I do every night, sketch on cocktail napkins with Sharpie pens, while drinking beer and watching old movies.
This sketch* came to me that evening. Through it, the painiting resolved itself.
I finished the painting the next morning.
