Our Story
Artfolios was founded by Carrie Leigh Dickey, Owner and Visionary, in 2021 with the support of Luke Dickey (her husband) and Luscinda L. Dickey (their daughter) as well as the support of Kimberly Varnadoe and Andrew Stenhouse. Carrie founded Artfolios out of a desire to champion fellow artists and out of love for the community of Winston-Salem.
Carrie shares: "Artfolios is our family’s passion project. We enthusiastically support Artfolios’ artists by gifting our skills, abilities, and time. We bridge the gap between artists and the community. We are relationship focused."
There is no cost for an artist to be represented by Artfolios or to participate in events or collaborations. (Most groups charge application, event, and/or monthly fees.) At most a small 30% commission fee is taken if a sell occurs. (The average commission fee is 50-60%.) The remainder of the sell goes directly to the artist to help them feed their passions. All commission fees are directed back to supporting Artfolios’ work by way of paying for the online gallery, events hosted, marketing campaigns, as well as any other business fees that may occur. The Dickey family's services are free: Carrie, Luke, and Luscinda do not get paid.

Artfolios connects North Carolina and beyond to a curated collection of Winston-Salem area artists through an online fine art gallery, collaborations with the community; consultations with individual and corporate patrons; and in person events featuring Artfolios’ artists.
